Ledgerline Bookkeeping

About Ledgerline

A small practice that would rather do fifty sets of books properly than five hundred quickly.

Ledgerline Bookkeeping opened in 2016 above a hardware store on 123 Main Street with two clients and a filing cabinet. We are a three-person team now, working with businesses across Oakridge Junction and the towns around it, and we still cap how many new clients we take each quarter so the tenth of the month stays the tenth of the month.

Most of our clients came from another client. That is the whole marketing plan, and it only works if the books are right.

How we work

Four rules we do not bend.

  1. 01

    The same date every month

Statements go out on the tenth. If something is going to be late you hear it from us before the date, not after.

  2. 02

    Plain English, not jargon

Every monthly package comes with three or four sentences in normal words. If you have to look up a term, we wrote it badly.

  3. 03

    One number on the invoice

A flat fee, agreed up front. We do not bill for the phone call where you ask whether something is deductible.

  4. 04

    Your file stays yours

The accounting file is in your name, not ours. If you leave, you leave with everything and we help with the handover.

Your records, handled carefully.

Bookkeeping means holding a lot of somebody else’s private information. These are the habits we keep so that stays uneventful.

  • Read-only bank connections wherever your bank supports them
  • Documents exchanged through an access-controlled portal, never by email attachment
  • Two-factor authentication on every system we touch
  • Account numbers masked in anything we send you
  • Access removed the day an engagement ends

Where we work

Remote for most of it, local when it matters.

Almost everything happens over email and a shared portal, so distance is not really the point. These are the towns where we will drive out, sit at your counter and go through the numbers in person.
